OPW - Gene Leahy Mall

  • Construction started in October of 2013 with All Purpose Construction as the Prime Contractor

  • This Renovation Project pertained to the existing Downtown Omaha Lagoon and Park which consisted of the draining and excavating of the lagoon, installing a new EPDM geo-membrane lagoon liner, construction of concrete walkways, landscaping, new walkway bollard lighting and the removal and replacement of the existing electrical service switchgear and power panels that feed power to all of the pumps, street lighting, overhead site lighting poles, walkway lighting, Christmas tree decoration lighting system, irrigation system and the underwater aeration system.

  • Some of the difficulties in the Project were the removal and replacement of the existing electrical service switchgear with multiple power panels and starters while keeping the park up and running with adequate lighting during the reconstruction of the lagoon and surrounding park areas.
